Snack Procedures for Classrooms

Snack Procedures

Downingtown Middle School has a population of students with life threatening food allergies. Proper cleaning and sanitizing of desks, chairs, etc. is a concern when we have snacks in classrooms. Our number one goal is safety. Therefore, we are providing a comprehensive list of approved snacks that are permitted in classrooms who have a designated snack time. Please adhere to this list for any and all snacks that you give your child to bring to school.

Safe Snacks

Permitted Peanut & Tree Nut-Free Safe Snacks

Educational & Family Trips

Persons in parental relation may request that their child be excused from school attendance to participate in an educational trip not sponsored by the school district. Since regular class attendance is a critical component of a student’s education program, the educational benefits of the trip should outweigh the negative impact of the disruption of the student’s educational program.
